Bluegrass By The Bluff - Oswego, KS - September 2006

It all started when two sisters married two brothers from southeast Kansas. Orin & Retha Cole and Kevin & Lynette Cole have been singing since their 'courtin' days. In 2003, they began establishing themselves with the locals, playing Gospel Bluegrass.
Every year around Labor Day, the folks around Edna, Kansas would get together to hear "The Coles" pick and sing. They called it "Bluegrass By The Creek". This year, the Coles were asked to promote a larger venue in Oswego, Kansas, where many more southeastern Kansas folks could gather. It's new name ... "Bluegrass By The Bluff".
It was fun! Expecting only 100 to 150 for the debut of this new festival, everyone was greatly surprised when 450 to 500 bluegrass-lovers attended. Great music, great barbeque, and wonderful people. We can hardly wait until next year.
